Thanh Nhan of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, created the Joy Oy brand and concept in 2005 as an add-on to the Hue brand of home accessories he’d worked on since 1998. 

 

Well, a few years and a Great Recession later, Joy Oy continues as a stand-alone brand with a big future!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thanh, a.k.a. Albert, planned Joy Oy as an outlet for the reservoir of talent in Vietnam’s traditional handicraft workshops. 

 

A tailor by training and popular among Expats in Vietnam, Thanh focused Joy Oy initially on trendy hand-embroidered accessories for the US and Canada. 

 

The line has developed in many new directions since then, but at the core still is the focus on taking traditional crafts and updating them for a fast-moving, trend-seeking world.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Today, Joy Oy’s fabrics and products are sourced throughout Southeast Asia, though Vietnam continues as the hub.
